ABOUT THE ARTIST - JUDI BETTS

Creating watercolors that "sparkle" is a trademark for which Judi Betts is well known. This workshop will allow sharing the fun and delight of watercolor with a master of luminosity and spontaneity. Students will learn to simplify designs, use color and light in exciting ways, capture mood and emotion, and to "see" as a painter.

Daily lectures and demonstrations, and individual challenges will be used to assist in developing new freedom in expression. Judi's lectures are designed to expand the potential of artists who have painted for years as well as those with limited experience. Daily individual guidance and evaluation is given to all participants. The attending artists are encouraged to bring a few finished paintings or slides of their work for personal review with Judi. Each day, Judi presents a challenge, often using it an an element of surprise..."something exciting."

Judi Betts, AWS, is the author of Watercolor--Let's Think About It and her newest co-authored book, Painting, A Quest Toward Xtraordinary, was released in the fall of 1999. Judi is a nationally known workshop instructor and award-winning watercolorist.
