A self-portrait can not only show the physical likeness but also the soul of the artist.

In this fun, self-portrait drawing workshop, you will be taught the "art of seeing." We will review the perception of edges, blind and modified contour drawing, negative space, and how shading adds volume to the portrait.

This workshop is for student who has some knowledge of drawing and it is highly recommended for students who have taken a "Right Brain" drawing class or have studied Dr. Betty Edward's book ---Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain.

Sylvia Megerdichian is the owner of Art Box Studio and is certified in teaching Betty Edwards' acclaimed drawing techniques. In this workshop, Sylvia will combine Dr. Edward's teaching with her easy-to-follow method.

Please, bring 11' x 14' (or any size with which you are comfortable) drawing pad, 2B and 6B pencils, Rolling Writer pen, and a ruler. If you have a mirror approximately 8" x 8" to 7" x 10", bring it with you. If not, we will have mirrors with which to work.
